The extensions may extend from their associated wheel set towards or away from the opposed wheel set, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The extensions may be pivotally connected to their associated bearing adaptors and/or beams 42, and the beams may have a series of apertures whereby the pivotal connection of the cross members 46 is adjustable in position. Friction damping means are provided between the cross members comprising circular plates 72, 74 attached to respective cross members and urged together by a back-up plate 76 attached to the plate 72 by spring-loaded bolts passing through aligned apertures 78.
