1495072 Railway vehicle suspensions SOUTH AFRICAN INVENTIONS DEVELOPMENT CORP 3 April 1975 [5 April 1974 22 April 1974 11 Sept 1974] 13714/75 Heading B7L A bogie includes sub-frames 37 comprising extensions 40 secured to the bearing adaptors of wheel sets 16, the two extensions secured to one wheel set being joined by a cross-beam 42, and diagonal cross members 46 pivotally attached to the sub-frames. The extensions may extend from their associated wheel set towards or away from the opposed wheel set, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown). The extensions may be pivotally connected to their associated bearing adaptors and/or beams 42, and the beams may have a series of apertures whereby the pivotal connection of the cross members 46 is adjustable in position. Friction damping means are provided between the cross members comprising circular plates 72, 74 attached to respective cross members and urged together by a back-up plate 76 attached to the plate 72 by spring-loaded bolts passing through aligned apertures 78.
