The reclining chair has a padded back and seat on rigid support frames and hinged at their common junction. The top of the back is also hinged to the chair frame and the seat has a plate resting on a peg for support and adjustment. A guide slot limits travel. The foot stool is mounted on an articulated lever which is connected to a pivoting link each side of the support and adjustment plate. This footstool is stowed away under the chair, when not in use, its position being masked by a padded bar swinging on pivots in the chair frame.
