A polymer coating is applied to at least one side of a glass pane by pouring a polymerisable liq. or polymer soln. into a finished double-glazing unit and draining the air space. The soln. is poured in via holes in the glass or in the frame. One or more different polymer layers may be applied and the polymer may be pigmented or optically active.
