Fully automatic conveying and stacking plant - for chill cast ingot dropping out of moulds mounted on a moving casting belt

Plant for stacking chill cast ingots made on a casting belt contains a row of moulds. The ingots drop out of the moulds onto a conveyor belt, and travel along the belt to an ejector which pushes each ingot down a chute to a manipulator. The manipulator aligns each ingot so a measuring sensor can indicate any scrap ingots. A trolley running on overhead rails is then employed to pick up each ingot and deposit it on a pallet to form a vertical stack in which the ingots in alternate layers are aligned at 90 degrees to each other so a stable stack is obtd., i.e. the stack does not easily collapse. All operations are fully automatic.
