The circuit protects semiconductor components against excess voltages. Each fuse has a signalling circuit supplied by a current source, each with a signalling element and an electronic switch connected to teh fuse through a pulse transformer. All static convertor fuses have a common tripping circuit with an electronic switch also connected through a pulse transformer. A pulse filter with a parallel RC circuit is inserted into the connection between input winding of a pulse transformer and a fuse. Transformer output windings are connected in parallel through a first semiconductor diode conducting for monitoring pulses, and a signalling circuit, and also through a second diode of the same polarity as the first, and the electronic switch of the common tripping circuit.
