The L-Shaped edge plate (6) for a door frame is positioned opposite the door lock and has slots in one face to receive the sliding bolts of the lock. In addition to holes (65) for conventional securing screws, the plate has parallel rods (61) extending rearwards for embedding in the frame. The rods are attached to the inside corner of the L-plate, and are at an angle of 45 deg. to the two sides. In an alternative design, the rods have screw threaded ends, and pass completely through one frame member to be clamped up by nuts onto another L-shaped corner plate behind the frame. Another design has flat strips extending at different angles from the plate.
|
