The rigid luggage cover panel of the hatchback car is secured between two spring clips (7) on the inside walls of the car. The clips are pivoted on support plates (6) and can be held in a sloping setting by spring ratchets, to hold the cover in the open position. To remove the cover it is slid out of the clips. The cover is easily removed without having to reach too far into the car and possibly soiling the clothes.
