<p>The material is filled into suitable containers, pref. drawn and of dish shape, and the packing is then exhausted. To ensure complete freedom from microbes, the packing can be treated with suitable gas. A suitable gas-discharging substance can be added to the dough to fill the exhausted packing and give complete sterility. Typically carbon dioxide from the baking powder can be used. The contents can be quick-frozen before packing, and paper inserts can be incorporated in the packing to reduce elasticity. Where the packing is of drawn plastic sheet, further packings can be added for complementary prods., pref. covered by a common sheet to form a complete sales unit.</p> |
