Spinning whorl bearing assembly includes a pair of ball bearings mounted at the ends of a supporting tube, which intermediate its length in the region of the belt drive is provided with a recess for the belt engaging drivingly the whorl. Diametrally opposite side of tube is provided with a hollow section which interconnects the tube ends. Whorl which is mounted in a box-like housing is readily interchangeable.
