Electronically controlled reactive current regulator has several capacitor units, measuring element, bistable auxiliary relays, contacts and amplifiers. The measuring element produces a DC quantity which is proportional to the instantaneous consumption of reactive current. Pulses are supplied to a switching arrangement consisting of bistable switching devices and logic elements. The measuring element and two bistable stages are connected in series. In the rest position of a first auxiliary relay, the first stage is applied to the switch-on winding and in the operating position to the switch-off winding. The second stage is applied to a change-over contact of a second auxiliary relay.
