Compound filled terminal connector for electric cables - uses elastomer compound which is easily soluble by selective action solvent

The compound filled multicontact terminal cable connector (3) is designed for use with multicore cable (1). The terminal ends (4, 6) of the cables cores are enclosed in an elastomer compound (12). The cable cores (4, 6) are connected to the connectors contacts (8) by soldering or compression. The compound (12) is chosen from those elastomers which are easily soluble in a selective action solvent. The ends of the cable cores in the compound are wound in a spiral so that there overall length is greater than the length of the connector. This is to enable new connections to be made with the existing cores should the need arise.
