The automatic drain-outlet is for use on domestic baths, hand basins or bidets. It can be cleaned out from above, and is now adapted for use on steel sinks. The outlet may be used on sink outlets of a min. 80 mm dia., and now has demountable metal screen above the plug. Details may include a plug which reciprocates vertically relative to a recessed seat, and projects below in the form of an axial spindle. The automatic transmission includes a rocking lever with its fulcrum set in gaskets in a horizontal adit, and which contacts the plug-spindle. A retractable bucket which a handling-hook is set in a siphon-pot below. The deployment of the screen above the plug obviates the possibility of the plug breaking dishes etc. when rising to allow the sink to drain.
