The protective sheath is for the sealing caps on an aquarium heater. A ring shaped plastic housing (25) has an inwards turned bottom edge (26) for fitting to the underside (23) of the sealing cap (9). A plastic cover (27) can be firmly connected with the top edge of the housing (25) and has an opening (28) for an electric cable. The cover (27) also has an opening (29) for the knob (17) of a controllable heating. The cover (22) can be stuck to the housing (25) or it can be welded.
