<p>The mobile equipment transports, loads and unloads rails, particularly very long rails for railway tracks. It uses a train of rail trucks on which tracks are mounted running each side for the entire train length. Rollers guide the rails with the minimum of friction. A truck travels on the rail tracks and has slewing crane jibs with grabs handling the rails. At each end of the train is an end truck with rail guides, while between these trucks and preferably symmetrically in relation to the train centre are two or more other trucks with anchoring devices for the very long rails. The truck with the crane jibs loads and unloads the rails via one or the other of the end trucks, and has drive units spaced apart in the lengthwise direction and acting on the tracks. Devices are provided between the train ends to absorb lengthwise and lateral movement on curves.</p> |
