The spring-loaded safety coupling for an agricultural machine consists of a normal friction clutch with a mechanical torque limiting coupling in front of it. The torque limiting coupling's disengagement torque is slightly above the slip torque of friction clupling. Axially acting springs are incorporated so that their axial force is effective both for the torque limiting coupling and the friction coupling. The torque limiting coupling has an axially displaceable ring between drive and driven parts. A hub has holes distributed around its periphery to accommodate spring-loaded roller bodies.
