The fresh air intake duct (5) is mounted under the bonnet and is fed via a grille through the bonnet. A filter (3) is clamped into the top of the duct by the weight of the closed bonnet and is easily replaced or cleaned when the bonnet is raised. The filter excludes dust and can also be improved by including a catalytic component to remove road fumes. The clamp fitting requires no special tools to change the filter and magnetic force may be used.
