Isoquinoline compounds of the following formula are described: wherein the moiety A-B represents a group of formula: -CH2-NR3- or -NR3-CH2-; wherein R3 represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl C3-6 cycloalkyl-C1-4 alkyl, optionally substituted benzyl, C3-6 alkenyl or C1-4 alkanoyl; wherein R represents hydrogen, C1-6 alkyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, or optionally substituted benzyl; wherein R1 and R2 each represent hydrogen or taken together represent a chemical bond; and wherein X is hydrogen or halogen; or an acid-addition salt thereof. The compounds are pharmaceuticals and especially useful in the treatment of disorders of the central nervous system.
