Filler and vent holes of a casing contg. explosive slurry or hollow charges are closed by caps made of a heat resistant elastic plastic material. The caps are slightly layered on their rims so that they fit well to the necks of the filler and vent holes. At their open ends, the caps have a groove to accept an O-ring. The caps thus protect the explosive against the ingress of water. In case of any internal pressure they fly off and prevent any slow deflagration from turning into a detonation. This is a safe and inexpensive way of protecting filler and vent holes.
