The arrangement is for storing flat record carriers of different sizes in two compartment with inclined bottoms facilitating stacking enables the record carriers, which are output from a data processing system, to be sorted into read and faulty carriers. The carriers fall freely into correctly positioned stacks which can be easily removed. The carriers are fed from a conveyor via a swivelling deflector into one of the compartments, each of which has an adjustable stop. The conveyor is inclined upwards in the direction carrier motion and oppositely to the compartment base inclination. The two stack compartments are part of a wire basket into which an adjustable wire stop clips between two basket wires. The stop has an upper loop for the upper compartment and a lower loop for the lower compartment.
