The oil pressure warning system is partic. intended for a motor vehicle engine. It comprises an oil pressure switch assembly (1-4) containing a piston (2) which is moved by the oil pressure (via 6) against a spring (7) and actuates a switch (4) in a warning light (13) circuit when the pressure drops below a pre-determined level. The spring tension is adjustable (via 8-12) as a function of the engine speed. The spring may bear on a slidable support (8) which may be moved by the engine speed adjusting lever (9) via linkage (10-12).
