A method of assembling and testing a sealed structure, particularly a fluid pressure differentially operated servomotor, comprising a first shell (126) with a sealing member, a hub and diaphragm assembly (96, 186) defining with said first shell a first chamber (214), and a second shell (248) with a further sealing member (288), said second shell defining with the hub and diaphragm assembly a second chamber (224) and being applied under pressure against the first shell with a peripheral bead (216) of the diaphragm interposed therebetween.

A checking operation for potential leak paths is performed upon completion of each sealing surface in the structure, by evacuating air from an associated chamber or cavity and monitoring the pressure level therein for a predetermined time period.
