PURPOSE:To enable a high discharge voltage to be maintained for a long period by mixing graphite with an active material of manganese dioxide added with nickel oxyhydroxide. CONSTITUTION:A positive mixture 1 is prepared by covering the surface of a granule 10 with a mixture powder 11 comprising nickel oxyhydroxide and graphite as is illustrated in (a); the granule 10 is prepared by mixing and kneading electrolytic manganese dioxide, graphite and a small amount of electrolyte. Then the positive mixture 1 is compressed and filled in a positive electrode case 2. In filling the positive mixture 1 in the positive electrode case 2, it is preferred to arrange so that the main component of a base 12 is a mixture powder consisiting of manganese dioxide and graphite (the content of graphite should be 5-15%) and the main component of a part 13 contacting with negative electrode 5 is a mixture powder consisting of oxy-nickel hydroxide and graphite, as is shown in (b); this will give a high flat voltage. Here, the positive mixture 1 is made up of an active material of 95-80% manganese dioxide and 5-20% nickel oxyhydroxide added with 5-15% of graphite. |
