The device according to the invention contains a number of toothed wheels which engage in each other one after another, are coaxially arranged and are coupled to the rollers at least at one of the ends of these. Coupled coaxially to each roller are two toothed wheels, one of which is firmly connected to the roller and the other of which is mounted thereon running idle. On each roller, the fixed wheel and the idling wheel are mounted in such a manner that the firmly mounted wheel of each roller engages in both the idling wheels which are mounted on the two adjacent rollers, and that the idling wheel of said roller engages as inert wheel in both the firmly mounted wheels of said two adjacent rollers.
