The housing and chassis arrangement for apparatuses with a keyboard consists of a baseplate (2) and a chassis part (4) which can pivot about a side edge of the baseplate and is composed of a keyboard supporting panel (9) and two side supporting panels (10 and 11) which are arranged at right angles to the keyboard supporting panel. The side supporting panels (10 and 11) are additionally connected by means of a latching rod (17) which is parallel to the pivoting axis (16) of the chassis part (4) and, in the pivoted-in state, latches in behind a leaf spring (18) which is arranged on the baseplate (2). For stabilisation, tabs (21) which project on the lower edges (20) of the side supporting panels (10 and 11) engage in narrow slots (22) in the baseplate (2), and at least one centring pin on a housing upper part (7) which can be placed over the chassis part (4) engages in a centring hole (39) which is arranged on the keyboard supporting panel (9). The side supporting panels (10 and 11) are equipped on their mutually facing inner surfaces with guide rails (32) for holding printed-circuit boards (53). When the chassis part (4) is in the pivoted-in state, a metal supporting plate (36), which is attached to the baseplate (2) and has bends (35), prevents the printed-circuit boards (53) from sliding out of the guide rails (32). <IMAGE>
