METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF INTERFERON II AND STIMULATED CLONES FOR THE CARRYING OUT OF THE METHOD

The prepn. of Type II Interferon from T-lymphocytes by sensitisation and cloning comprises subjecting the cell clone to a nitrogenous stimulation and harvesting after further cultivating the stimulated clones Type II Interferon esp. from cell free supernatants of cultures. Interferon inhibits the new synthesis (growth) of viruses and can also be used in the therapy of tumours. Type II is more effective against tumours than Type I is. The process gives Type II Interferon in usable quantities and the concn. in the solns. obtd. is 10 times higher than in previous processes, which simplifies purification and prepn. of concentrates.
