In coffee-making machines, the filter water is heated in an evaporator pipe which is arranged in close proximity to a heater and has a constant cross-section over its entire length, as a result rises via a rising pipe and then drips through a filter insert. In this case, the water emerges from the rising pipe discontinuously and in a spraying or "spurting" manner, involving a considerable amount of noise.
