The invention relates to an X-ray examination table (4) with a patient-supporting plate (6) and two longitudinal bars (9, 10) each supporting the patient-supporting plate on one of its long sides. In such examination tables the longitudinal bars impede sliding insertion of radiographic devices, X-ray film cassettes and spot-film devices. For this purpose, the invention provides for one of the two longitudinal bars to be arranged above the patient-supporting plate. In addition, the other one of the two longitudinal bars can be arranged below the patient-supporting plate. This facilitates transfer of bedridden patients. An X-ray examination table according to the invention is especially suitable for use in X-ray supports. <IMAGE>
