This instrument has a device for measuring the magnetic remanence of steel or the like by determining the point of saturation of the magnetisation of the steel to be magnetised on the basis of the reduction in the determined pulse voltage, using a rectified pulse current as exciter current, the magnetisation core being circular, polygonal or U-shaped with a small opening.
