The invention relates to a lavatory which is designed as a closed cubicle provided with a door and is equipped with a faeces container which is covered by a panel exhibiting a seat. In order to be able to carry out the required cleaning work in a simple and rapid manner and with comparatively little effort, it is proposed according to the invention that the faeces container (6) be arranged loosely in the lavatory. The faeces container (6) in the lavatory is advantageously connected releasably thereto. The faeces container (6) is dimensioned in its height and width such that, in the position of use of the panel (4), said panel (4) rests on the upper end face (7) of said faeces container. Inserted in the faeces container (6) is a bag (13) whose opening edge (12) overlaps the end face (7) of the faeces container (6) and is releasably attached thereto. <IMAGE>
