The safety baffle is for installation in the duct (E) leading from the night safe deposit opening of a bank. It comprises a turnstile having four radial blades (C) on a rotatable horizontal shaft (A) with a ratchet wheel (B) and pawl allowing rotation in one direction only. The turnstile is arranged below a constriction (D) in the duct and the shaft is connected (F) to a counter which only permits one quarter turn at a time. The counter setting is visible to the depositer in a window and registered inside each time a deposit is made. FL.
