PURPOSE:To obtain a light-weight, low-loss transformer by a method wherein an iron core is a single-phase two-leg type with the excitation windings thereon connected parallelly while the tape windings thereon are connected serially and three such leg/windings combinations are prepared for use with a three-phase power supply. CONSTITUTION:In a single-phase two-leg iron core consisting of two legs 11, 12 and iron yokes, a tap winding 31 and excitation winding 21, tap winding 32 and excitation winding 22 are wound concentically from inside, about the respective legs 11, 12. The excitation windings 21 and 22 are parallelly connected and the tap windings 31 and 32 are serially connected. The tap windings 31, 32, being serially connected to each other, one of the two is exposed to a voltage roughly one half of the entire voltage applied to the windings. Accordingly, even under conditions where a high voltage is supplied to the windings, reinforcement of insulation for the respective tap windings 31, 32 can be curtailed, which keeps the transformer from becoming too large in scale and ensures a simplified lead-out structure. Further, a tap winding being accommodated in an excitation winding, flux-caused stray loss can also be reduced.
|
