By means of the invention, a corner connector is described, with which showcases, shelving systems or the like can be implemented, which can be set up in a variable manner and converted easily, the corner connectors serving for receiving side/wall panels and for fastening shelves. According to the invention, there are provided for the shelves elements, attached removably to the corner connectors, having a horizontal portion, on which elements the shelves can be placed. Simple reconstruction is then possible (removal or insertion of shelves). In an advantageous design, the elements are wire straps and are constructed to be of such a length that they can be suspended below the shelves in opposite corner connectors and run between the latter. As a result, said corner connectors are connected to one another, resulting in great stability.
