Electronic component comprising at least one superconducting electrode, and method of producing such a component

A description is given of an electronic component comprising a superconductor/insulator/superconductor structure or a superconductor/insulator/normal conductor structure, in which component the superconductor base electrode is composed of a lead alloy preferably containing 29% by weight of bismuth and the insulating layer is composed of indium oxide. The counterelectrode may be composed of the same lead alloy as the base electrode or of a normal-conductor metal such as gold, silver or aluminium. These components are produced by vapour deposition in vacuo, in which process metal masks are preferably used and the insulating layer is formed by vapour deposition and oxidation of a thin indium metal layer. The components are notable for a high thermal shock resistance, a high gap voltage and a marked nonlinearity of the characteristic.
