The invention proposes a drive unit for a torsional pendulum in which the moving drive elements, in particular the rotor (7) and the return spring (13) fixed on the shaft (1) of the latter can be connected by means of a holder (16) to give a constructional unit in which the moving drive elements are locked against rotation relative to one another. By means of the holder (16), this constructional unit can be mounted on a base part (3) of the unit housing, i.e. can be connected to the base part (3) firmly enough to allow handling by virtue of the fact that pins (20, 21) formed on the holder (16) reach through openings (24, 25) in the base part (3). After the assembly of the drive unit has been completed, the holder (16) can be pulled off the rotor (7) by grasping the pins (20, 21) from outside, thus releasing the rotor (7). <IMAGE>
