The side stands (2, 3) are connected to one another by means of steel bearers (5, 6). An intermediate stand (7) is mounted displaceably on the steel bearers (5, 6). A combined beam-receiving and -rotating device (9) is arranged on one side stand (2). The intermediate stand (7) carries a beam-receiving device (10). A self-locking mechanical feed device (11) is arranged between the other side stand (3) and the intermediate stand (7). The feed device (11) is connected to a feed-force generator (14) which can be set to continuous operation. A beam lifting-out device (21) can be arranged under the winding beam (8). This ensures by simple means that the clamping force is maintained during the winding, but that, in the event of a failure of the clamping force, a harmful loosening of the winding beam preventing further winding operations does not occur. Further measures allow the winding beam (8) to be lifted out and introduced by means of the feed-force generator (14). <IMAGE>
