A clamping device consists of a base body (10) which is cut to length from an aluminium extruded section and of one or more clamping pieces (100) which are produced by aluminium die casting or aluminium permanent mould casting. The base body is fixed to a plate, table or the like via a clamping screw (28) by means of one or more clamping pieces (100), a clamped article (24) then being arranged so as to be situated in the base body (10), rigidly connected thereto by means of a screw spindle (22). <IMAGE>
