Cpds. of formula (I) are new, (n is 4-24; R1 and R2 are each H, halo, nitro, opt. branched 2-12C alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, acyl or opt. substd. phenyl; at least one being other than H or R1 and R2 together are -CH=CH-CH=CH- joined to 2 adjacent C atoms to form a naphthyl ring). (I) are anti-seborrhea and antiinflammatory cpds., which have low toxicity and are well tolerated by the skin. They may be used to treat smooth skin seborrhea (which may have acne complications), scalp seborrhea and seborrheic dermatitis. The products may be applied locally as lotions, creams, gels, shampoos, etc. Activity tests are described.
