In an electrostatic transducer, particularly a condenser microphone, having a diaphragm and a counter-electrode, the counter- electrode (11) constructed as a thin platelet is provided on its periphery with recesses (11a, 17, 19a, 20a, 21a, 22a). The usefully effective capacitance is then about 70% and the parasitic capacitance about 30% of the total capacitance for this shape of the counter- electrode. <IMAGE>
