Disclosed are a BFD link establishment method and apparatus, and a router. The method comprises: a BFD state is configured as an online state, and start timing; when a message is received, if it is beyond a specified time, BFD link establishment is in failure, if it is not beyond the specified time, the received message is detected, and if the message is a P setting link establishment message or an F setting link establishment message, a detection period is negotiated; and if the message is a message being not subjected to setting on a P position and an F position and carrying an online state, whether the negotiation about the detection period succeeds or not is determined, if the negotiation succeeds, the message being not subjected to setting on the P position and the F position and carrying the online state is kept alive, and the BFD link establishment succeeds, and if the negotiation does not succeed, the message being not subjected to setting on the P position and the F position and carrying the online state is not processed. |
