The invention relates to a measurement transducer and a control device for positioning and measuring workpieces on machine tools, in particular automatic cylindrical grinders, in which the positioning of the workpieces in both axial and radial directions is necessary and the configuration of the end faces makes a measuring-lever clearance stroke absolutely necessary. The measuring signals produced are processed in the control device, a circuit element known per se being used for inverting the signals so that the machine tool is controlled with constant input variables even during different positioning and measuring directions. This measuring device of high accuracy permits universal attachment to the machine tool, it is suitable for two opposed radial and axial measuring directions with constant measuring range and large measuring-lever clearance stroke, delivers identical input variables for the machine tool, has an automatically acting change-over at the control device for the positioning and measuring at a workpiece in a machine cycle, and, at fixed or varied cut-off points, enables predetermined machining steps to be initiated on the machine tool. |
