The object of the present invention is a brake master cylinder of the type with two hydraulic transmission circuits, particularly for a motor vehicle, characterised in that it comprises a main piston 3, which slides in a main cylindrical zone 2 and one of the faces 9 of which is actuated by control means whilst the other face 13 carries a compensator bar 15 which bears on the ends 18a, 18b of two secondary pistons 19a, 19b, each controlling a hydraulic transmission circuit and which slide in opposition to springs 21a, 21b in secondary cylindrical zones 20a, 20b parallel to one another and in the extension of the main cylindrical zone 2, the said ends 18a, 18b of these secondary pistons 19a, 19b forming a projection into the said main cylindrical zone 2 in such a way that the main piston 3 can come to bear on one of the secondary pistons when the circuit controlled by the other piston is no longer under pressure. <IMAGE>
