Spiral newel staircase

A spiral newel staircase is described, which is easy to construct without specialist knowledge and can be easily adapted to the dimensions set by the builder. The fixture of the supporting arms, carrying the treads, to the central column and the fixture of the railing supports to the supporting arms, and also the mutual coupling of the supporting arms in the region of the outer ends of the treads is brought about by simple clamping connections. The clamping connections are designed in such a way that by simply turning adjusting screws cylindrical clamping bodies are pressed into a wedge-shaped gap present between individual construction members and a non-positive and positive, but if necessary easily detachable, connection of the individual members is thereby obtained. The treads are fixed reliably and elegantly to the supporting arms likewise by means of clamping connections. <IMAGE>
