Electro-portable apparatus for ripping wooden logs. Behind the threaded rotary cone (9) there is arranged a fixed wedge (11) of which the lower ridge (12) is adapted to the upper portion of the log end to avoid the rotation of the latter. Furthermore, the upper shoe (17) located on the left when the cone (9) rotates "to the right", shears the wooden fibers which tend to resist between the two halves of the log at the end of the ripping operation. Application: ripping of logs in a proper and effort less way, directly in front of the fire place, even inside an apartment.
