<p>1. A method consisting to cast aluminium or an aluminium alloy in a mould to obtain a piece of metal as soon as the solidification is completed which is sufficiently rigid, characterized in that the piece still in hot condition is stripped immediately after the casting and placed between two chilling moulds of a die defining an imprint the size of which is slightly smaller than the size of the mould, the two chilling moulds of the die being then tightly pulled against one another in order to exert on the cast piece placed between the chilling moulds a combined action of core pressing and of superficial hammering.</p> |
