The method and the device, which are applicable to any apparatus for restoring recordings made on a circulating medium, employ two identical branches. Each branch comprises an analog memory 14 having a specified number N of elements in cascade, the output from which memory feeds a loop 20, 24 which terminates at the input 16 of the memory. An analog output amplifier 22 receives the output signals from the two memories alternately. A switch 38 makes it possible alternately to load each of the two memories at a first frequency Vc and, at the same time, to read the memory not currently being loaded at a second frequency Vv. The output signals from this second memory are applied to an amplifier 20 which feeds, on the one hand, a loop amplifier 24 and, on the other hand, an output amplifier 22. <IMAGE>
