Device which is placed at the top of the chimney flue and which prevents the smoke from being driven back by the wind. It comprises a structure made up of drawn steel elements. This structure firstly comprises four "angle-shaped" drawn elements 1 penetrating vertically into the chimney block 3, two other "angle-shaped" drawn elements 9 and two flat drawn elements 8 are placed horizontally and form a bearing surface. All these eight pieces thus determine the positioning of the apparatus. A flange 2 is welded to the two flat drawn elements and the fixing is ensured by a fastening bolt 4 at the end of this flange. A box element is installed around the frame and is made up of four pieces of galvanised sheet metal 10, positioned with respect to each other by means of angles 7, the assembly being insured by rivets. Finally, another metal sheet 5 is laid horizontally at the top of the frame on two flat drawn elements 6. The invention may therefore be used for preventing the wind from disturbing the draft of a chimney, by driving the smoke back inside.
