Aliphatic phosphono formic acid monoesters of formula (I), their pharmaceutically permissible salts, and their optical isomers are prepd. by sequentially de-esterifying compds. of formulas (III) and (II). In the formulas, R2 is C3-6 cycloalkyl, C4-6 cycloalkyl-alkyl- 1-adamantyl or 2-adamantyl; R6 is an inactive organo residue; and R13 is hydrolyzable phosphate ester introduced into (I). Prods. are useful as anti-virus medicines.
