<p>The expanding mandrel is for the internal gripping of a tubular core, having a solid spindle of annular cross-section with segments removed at regular intervals. Clamps (3) movable in the radial direction enclose the spindle, together forming a ring in the rest position when they bear against curved faces on it. Sets of rollers (5) fit in recesses in the clamps and bear against faces on the spindle, so that, when this turns in relation to the clamps, the rollers run along the faces and force the clamps radially outwardly against the core.</p> |
