A self-priming multi-stage centrifugal pump (1) having a canned motor (2) is characterised in that - as seen in the delivery direction - the last pump impeller downstream of a (7) or a group (7 to 10) of radial-flow pump impellers is designed as a cell-flushing self-priming stage (11), and has assigned to it a separation chamber (12), emanating from which delivery ducts (13, 14, 16) for the flow medium run into the canned motor (2) and at least largely through the tubular shaft (22) thereof into a discharge port (18) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
