The invention relates to a device intended to protect the hands of a worker when he is working a component on a dangerous machine, very close to tools which are cutting, rotating or moving at a high speed. It consists of a mast 1 carried by a plate 2 equipped with three magnets 3 at least ensuring adherence to the table of the machine. A chassis formed from bent metal sheets 7 and 8 rotates and slides about the mast 1 and carries four "bogey" rollers 9. A square tube 10 guided on ridges by the rollers 9 slides freely on the latter. On this tube 10 there is welded a cylindrical tube 12 equipped with bearing bushes 13. A shaft 14 moves in the said bushes to which there are fixed a handle 23 and a sphere 16 equipped with a piece of wood covered with a special piece of rubber 20. This rubber serves to entrain the component to be worked. The device according to the invention makes it possible to move the component to be machined over the entire working plane of the machine while protecting the fingers of the worker. <IMAGE>
